A cute little baby boy for me

I was sleeping nicely at the middle of the night after a tiring day at the office.
'Dear Dear, wake up, I'm leaking!', my wife yelled.

Me: What leaking, parliament leaking again?
Wife: No, it's me. I just came out from toilet and it started to leak till now and doesn't seems to stop.
She seems started to get panic and so am I. She was 8 months pregnant and would be due in another few weeks time. But it seems that things doesn't happen accordingly.

I rushed her to the hospital at 1.00am. Checked in and she were send to the delivery hall for check up. It seems that the day has come.

It was our first time being in such place. For you who never been into the delivery hall, it's creepy there. As my wife undergo check up, I just stand outside the room, waiting, worrying but then...
I heard screaming! Yeah, I saw those giving birth scene on TV but when I heard the screaming thing for real, it really freak me up for the first time.

My wife was placed on a bed. She started to endure the pain too. Just every 2 to 3 minutes, the pain would repeat, sometimes the pain was unbearable. You could try imagine having a part of your flesh tearing up to a 10cm hole to give way for the baby, no pain killer, for several hours, alive!
I could just stay beside her, hold her hand, calm her down along the period.

There are 2 more lady who are in the same room which eventually gave birth early in the morning.
Our Gynae, Dr. George came over around 8am for a check up on my wife. It is still at early stage and she has to wait till the cervix opening large enough to deliver.

The clock it tickling, over and over but it seems to be an endless wait. It was already afternoon and Dr. George came over for the third time for check up. It's no good. It seems that the cervix opening hasn't improved ever since morning and the Gynae suggested to go for Caesarean a.k.a. surgical birth!

1.00pm 16th Oct 2007
I walked along side with my wife which is on the bed heading towards the Operation Theaters. As the door closed, I could just stood there outside the theater, and wait.

1.45pm
The door opened, a nurse walked out to me holding a small little baby covered on a blue towel. It was so little, moving his little arms and body, trying to open his eyes.

For that few seconds, I stopped breathing, my mind was empty, my eyes stopped blinking and the world seems to paused.

'Congratulations, it's a boy', the nurse said.

I'm a father! Yes, I'm a real father now. Nothing more that I could express my feeling right now.

The little baby weights only 2.34 Kg or about 5 lbs 3 oz but he was healthy.

I stood there outside the Operation Theaters until my wife came out. She is still conscious, kinda weak but could still have a few words with me.
'Our boy were so cute dear' I said to her.
She just smiled at me.
