Black Out and Blow Up!

Its a nice early morning and I just woke up. As usual, the first thing I would do is to go online. Well, seems like I would have no life without the internet :p

So there I goes switching on my PC and suddenly...
The light start blinking and then everything goes black out. WTF!
I look at my computer's UPS, it was blinking like kena jolt my electricity. I switch OFF everything but well, everything is already dark.

I guess probably the main switch has trip but unfortunately, nothing is found wrong on the main electricity panel. I started to get worried, it can't be the source outside gone wrong!

With no other option to choose, I called up TNB and report my situation to them. They said they going to send people over to check. And yeah, that would be like 1 or 2 hours before you see anyone come over. Normal lah.

The charge man climb up to a lamp post at the end of the street and fix something there. Since I am a technician, I pay some attention to the safety precaution he took while working on top of the lamp post. He has a safety belt attached and clamped between his body to the ladder. Some good improvement cos I didn't see those couple years back. You know how dangerous it is if someone fall down from the top of a lamp post like 40 or 50 foot high. That would simple send him straight 18th floors below!

Somehow, there is one thing I found amiss. Lets take a look on the picture below.

Well, probably nothing seems wrong but then he is working on a main power line bare handed?
I certainly don't really know their procedure working on that situation but I certainly know the power line there is NOT shut down. In case if any part of his skin goes near enough to the power line, the jolt would bring him to the 17th floor below already!
Oh well, maybe he learned how to absorb electrical energy instead of getting jolt la.

So, after the charge man repaired the terminal at the lamp post, still there is no electricity to my house!

There, the next thing to check was the main power line joint connected into my house. And yeah, it seems that the joint is damaged. To be exact, the wire seems melted with the joint! WTF again.

See, the main power line joint was severely melted! The only thing I could think of is that my house pull too much power causing the joint to generate enough heat to melt the wire and joint.

Finally, the electrical power resumed. I was glad that everything has settled. But not for long....

As I switch on my computer again, the UPS seems to be flickering again so I immediately switch OFF the thing again. I removed the UPS and plug in the power directly to the switch and well, everything seems to be a lil bit OK.
Damn, I lost a UPS today!

So, just for today, I have a black out early in the morning.
I'd blown up the main fuse at the lamp post.
I'd blown up the main electric joint to my home.
I'd blown up the UPS.

That is one heck of a Bad Farking Luck day.
