Buffet Dinner at Old Generation Seri Botani

It was a hot evening and we're having hot steamboat buffet at Seri Botani, it's really a hell of a buffet.

Seri Botani is a rather new housing estate situated in between Gunung Rapat and Simpang Pulai. Its a huge piece of land which is still under development process and not many know that this estate could link to several key area including Pengkalan, Unisem at Simpang Pulai and of course Jalan Gopeng. Just like any housing estate, there sure will be rows of shops standing by the main road. Although most of the shop lots here is still lying empty but I could see a few of them is already in operational. Of course, you will definitely find restaurants around here but the last thing you may expect is a restaurant serving buffet steamboat dinner in the middle of this less-known area.

Old Generation Restaurant Seri Botani

As you turn into the Seri Botani from Jalan Gopeng just go straight along the main road and you will find this restaurant on your left.

There isn't anything special about the steamboat here as you will be given a regular steamboat pot with two choice of soup base. Plain soup, Tom Yam, porridge and herbal soup is what available. If you been to buffet steamboat before, I'm sure you know this is what you get to choose elsewhere. Hmm... I wonder where I could find one who serve curry soup.

Okay, it may turn out to be a bit boring at start but let's get into the food tables here. Yeah, show me the food!

Old Generation Restaurant Fast Food

The fast food section comprise of fried noodle and rice as well as several varieties of fried snacks. Oh yeah, not to forget about the curry chicken there. Choice here aren't much but its good to have something on the plate while awaiting for the steamboat to boil up.

Old Generation Restaurant Frozen Food

On the front you will find varieties of frozen stuff for your steamboat.
If you want to find something more valuables to cover back your expenses you could skip this one and proceed to the seafood section though.

Old Generation Restaurant seafood

Oh Yeah seafood. Fish, prawn, squid, clamp, mantis shrimp, mussle, scallop, crab just to name part of it. It's going to be sinful if you don't take a full platter of these, or maybe two.

Old Generation Restaurant Vegetables

Veggies is my all time favourite, its a good way for a healthy diet though.

There are several stalls which continuously busy preparing food for the patrons. This is the roast stall which prepares juicy roast chicken, duck and pork too. Simply irresistible.

Old Generation Restaurant Dim Sum

Then there is this Dim Sum stall which serves many kinds of Dim Sum of your liking. Just take whichever you like and you can also request for some nice steamed Dim Sum too.

Old Generation Restaurant BBQ guy

Our Barbecue guy working hard on the stove. He is busy grilling prawns and crabs the whole evening and his comrade on the western stall busy preparing grill chicken, lamb and steak too.

Old Generation Restaurant BBQ Crab & Prawn

Yummy, some delicious grilled prawn and crab.

Old Generation Restaurant Sushi

Here is a full platter of Japanese Sushi. Its really filling me up I tell ya.

At this point of the dinner I have got all kind on food dump into my stomach already. The food out there is just too irresistible. I grab a bowl of shark fin soup, well, without the shark fin of course but it taste nice though. Then another bowl of red bean dessert. I'm almost done but the dessert and refreshment is seducing me.

Old Generation Restaurant Fruits and Dessert

Colorfully decorated refreshment and dessert. There's also cakes and Nyonya Kueh and not forget also the various flavor of ice cream in the freezer. Now I'm done with a big tummy, hardly movable.

I was sweating terribly part of it due to the hot spell and part of it because the ventilation at this restaurant. I guess they need to put up a few more fan to cool down the place though. My brother in law from Cameron Highlands cannot stand the heat and left to his nearby house for some air conditioner.

The food at this restaurant was good but make sure you wear casually and comfortably or else you will be bathing after the meal. Price for the buffet here is RM23.80 for adult and RM11.80 for children during weekday. As for weekend the price hike up to RM26.8 and RM13.80. As for children below 7 years old it is absolutely FREE and senior above 65 years old is charge as children.

Ipoh Chai, you are back! Thank you for the latest post on the buffet at Bandar Cyber. Going through the pictures, there are plenty to eat. There is a balance of everything. With a price like that, I believe many people will find it hard to resist going there. Let's see more food posts from you.

This is the worst steamboat I ever had in my life!! I will tell all my frens n relatives dont ever try this restaurant. They will reserved the duck drumsticks for themselves instead of serving it to customers. You cant order food at the counter, u need to grab it with other people when they serve it at the counter! I rather pay more and choose Restaurant Good Times or K-Kai than Rest. Old Generation.
