Dun play play with firecrackers

In just another one month time and we are going to celebrate Chinese New Year, Gong Xi Gong Xi. Over the recent years, more and more home are decorated with blinking lightings, lanterns and so on. Since the ban of fireworks many years ago, Chinese New Year has been becoming a very quiet festival. I consider lucky cos I do enjoy the time when fireworks are legal and the festive season back then were full of fireworks popping everywhere every day and night for 2 weeks!

Government ban fireworks because houses are caught fire and people get injured. I never really seen house caught fire because of fireworks before, not even heard one either but people get injured from fireworks are common. I was almost one of those victims too.

Back in those days, fireworks aren't really dangerous. Those who get injured usually are those who kuai lan people who try to modify the fireworks by removing the black powder and top up a whole bunch of it into one container thinking they could be make them a good pyrotechnic but instead, they blow up themself!

I also used to be kuai lan also, removing those solid powder, crunch it and top up whole bunch of it into a used fireworks container. I thought it would only light up as some spark but instead the whole thing exploded! BOOM!
Somehow, my cowardness saved me cos I stand quite far away from it but I did get a hell of shock from the explosion.
Lesson, never play with fireworks powder, unless you have some extra hand or finger to lose.

Nowdays fireworks are even more deadlier. The famous soccer firecracker which is merely a 20 cent coin size could create hell of an explosion. I can't imagine if the thing blow up on somebody's hand, sure he will lose some fingers.
