I get to know about this Fo Guang Shan (FGS) Dong Zen Temple from my parents since they visited the temple last year. They mentioned about the beauty and awesomeness of the temple during the Chinese New Year time. Flowers, lanterns, exhibitions blaa blaa blaa, so terror like that.
My brother-in-law is the main flower supplier to this temple during the Chinese New Year flora festival, so he would visit the place to have a look on how things going on with his supplies there. This year, he is supplying about 80 percent of the flora there. Yes, he claim 80 percent ! That would be duno-how-many fully loaded truck of flowers and plants just to this temple. Yeah, he can't recall how many truck either, end of the day, the invoice will tell everything.
I couldn't make it in 2006 as I was in the other state but this year, I was set to visit this beautiful place.
Well, I was always wonder where exactly this FGS Dong Zen Temple is located, not even my brother-in-law could tell me exactly where and which location is was, my dad was only mentioned it was so far away from KL. None of us really know much about Selangor places so can't help it.
Somehow I manage to find out that this temple is located in a place named Jenjarom ! Nyasing, I never heard there is a place named Jenjarom !? So where is this freaking Jenjarom?
How to get to FGS?
We were driving along North-South-Expressway towards Kuala Lumpur late in the morning. As we arrived to the junction after the overhead restaurant after the Sg. Buloh exit, we followed the route to KLIA and exit at the Pulau Indah toll exit of the North-South-Expressway near Shah Alam.
After that, we just head straight towards Pulau Indah, pass through another toll and continue to go straight before we turned out towards Banting on the left.
The Jenjarom town is located somewhere before Banting and you would find this huge signboard to the FGS Temple on your right near the Police Station. Yeah, you heard that right, a Police Station, lokap ok !
Still duno how to get there? Well you may try dial 999 and ask where is the police station at Jenjarom and maybe (I say maybe) the operator would guide you how to get there. Cepat dan Betul mah.

This is the signboard into to Fo Guang Shan Dong Zen Temple, behind was the Police Station

Entrance to the Temple. We arrived at afternoon and there are still plenty of parking space but the crowd is building up.

There is this Lotus Pond at the side of the entrance and I find the lotus flower was so special.

Purple coloured Lotus. It was so beautiful.

The whole garden in front of the temple is covered in purple. It takes 2 fully loaded truck to fill up all these purples.

Flying in the sky.

A beautiful rocky Koi pond.

A Kuan Yin statue in the middle of the garden. It was SO purple all over the place.

Look at the giant Kuan Yin statue.

Also, this Buddha statue in a pagoda

There are various kind of Orchids displayed in the garden too. So colourful.

There are many statue all over the garden, goddess, monks, animals etc.

These was some cute little monk statue.

My belly was expanding like this liao.

Grrrr. you won't like me when I get angry won't you.

The scenery around the temple was so remarkable.

And there is this awesome looking Buddha statue sitting on a Lotus Flower.

Right behind the Buddha statue, there is this stage for prayers. There will be praying session in the evening.
This is the exhibition hall for the buddhist cultural and arts.

And this is the exhibition center building. There are Cultural Books and Statues exhibition on the ground floor,
Buddhism Cultural talk on the first floor,
Oriental Flora Exhibition events on the second floor and
Prayers on the third floor.

So cute of these zodiac miniature animals. It has all the 12 zodiac animals of chinese horoscope.

And this year, PIG RULES !

They even have this giant pagoda. It has a hydraulic jack which could lift you up to the top and you could look at the entire FGS Temple view from there. The whole pagoda was like made out of paper and I wonder if the wind will blow it away. So freaking eerie to go up there.

So many many lanterns. I heard it was so beautiful at night when all the lanterns and lightings is ON. Too bad that I could stay till night. Maybe next year, I'll be back for a night shot here. (I say maybe)

This is one of the goddess statue displayed in the exhibition hall. There are many goddess statue in display with some information about the goddess. There are so much you could learn about Buddhist Culture here.

Red Sakura.

White Sakura
At the end of Chinese New Year, they will auction off all the flowers away. That will happen on the 15th day of Chinese New Year (4 March 07). Well, if you would like to grab some nice flowers, do come over. And remember to drive a lorry huh.

Well it was a tiring one-day-journey to this amazing temple. Luckily, there wasn't terrible traffic problem on our way to KL. The route from North to South in the North-South-Expressway was clear in the morning but terriby congested in the evening. It was crawling from Slim River to Rawang! Yes, it's almost 100km of freaking slow crawling traffic. Duno-how-many-hours for them to get back to KL? I would be killing myself if driving there.

A special thanks to my lil brother for all the awesome photos during this journey. This blog wouldn't be so perfect without your support. Thanks a thousand !
