Gkam Foong crispy roast pork

I don't really likes roast pork when I was a kid. Usually, there will be roast pork on any 'Big Day' celebration such as Chinese New Year, Mid Autumn Fest and so on as the roast pork will be one of the dish serve as tribute to the goddess.

Time changed so am I, now I like roast pork like any Chinese people does and when you want to talk about the best roast pork in town, I would point you to this restaurant located near Station 18, Ipoh.

Restoran Gkam Foong like any restaurant selling economy rice as well as some roasted meat rice. It is formerly located at the Old Town Kopitiam of Shatin Park. Well I was a loyal customer of this restaurant due to its excellent roast pork.

During the peak hour, there will be a long queue of customers waiting for their turn to tapau. If you we here at that time, a lil' patience is required. Yeah, just the other day the taukeh soh forgot my order till I have to tapau away since I was catching time. Make me frustrated also la.

Ultimately, it's roast pork was Da Best! The meat was so tender and there is no thick layer of fat since they only use the pig's chest to roast. And the best part was on the skin. Wow, it was so crispy I'telya. I could feel it crunching on every bites and that was just marvellous.

I just had this roasted duck rice this evening. Yummy leh! It may not have a very crispy skin but it is still good.

To find this restaurant, you just need to drive along the main road of Jalan Pasir Putih towards Pengkalan. As you passed Shatin Park traffic light, you will find a Petronas station on your left. Just go further down till you find the Telekom building on your right. The restaurant is located on the first shop beside the Telekom building.
