Going Korea Hwaseong Fortress

Another morning started with an early wake up call. We’re leaving one hour earlier because we will be having breakfast somewhere else rather than at the hotel’s restaurant. I ain’t sure if they ever have a restaurant.

We’re having rice for breakfast today, lunch style. For the first time, we got to seat on the floor for our meal, just like in the Korean drama.

The dishes are main cold dishes comprises of fish, eggs, miso soup, seaweed and of course, Kimchi and bean sprout.
Right after the breakfast, we visit the Hwaseong fortress.

One of the command post, Dongjangdae or Eastern command post which is built in 1795 is used to observe enemy movement around the fortress. Many of the classical Korean drama were shot here in the fortress.

The fortress was initially built by the king to move the capital city from Seoul to Suwon. The fortress covers a 1.3 kilometer square land with many structures and buildings.

We took a ride on the dragon vehicle to enjoy the scenery around the fortress. This vehicle resembles the cart build to carry the emperor to move around the country in the ancient time.

The surrounding area around the fortress is very beautiful. Red maple tree were all over and still has its red leaves around. As winter approaching its mid, all these trees will only left with its trunks and branches.

Just hanging around. Peoples tend to jog around the park and do some exercise or could just hang around and enjoy the beautiful place.

Our rides end up at the top of the hill and next to the fortress. We then walked back to the other entrance to the fortress where our coach is waiting. I just can’t stop to enjoy the gorgeous scenery surrounding the fortress. It’s just exhilarating.

Its about 10.30am in the morning and we will be going to South Korea famous theme park, Everland but before that, we got ourselves an early lunch before entering the theme park. This lunch is actually optional where we got to pay extra money for it. Since we have been told that having meal inside the theme park would be a bit costly and the quality may not be really good, everyone decided to take the option instead.

Our special lunch consist of this grill pork. Yumm… no more steamboats for this time at least but still cannot escape the Kimchi and bean sprout.

Our tour guide is helpful enough to help cutting the grilled pork into small pieces. We can top up the pork and eat as much as we can with no extra charge.

This is how we eat the grill pork. Get a piece of salad and wrap a piece of grilled pork with some garlic or Kimchi whatever you like to add in. then just chuck the whole thing into your mouth and start chewing. The salad and grilled pork we so juicy and tasty. Argh, I just keep wrapping one after another until I could take it no more. This certainly is the best meal I ever had in Korea. No waste for the 12,000 won paid. (RM36)

As we done with the delicious lunch, we head straight to Everland.
