Hacken Lee Concert at Genting 2008

Oh gosh, this was the first time I ever went to a concert. Yeah, you heard that right, first time going to a concert! And coincidently this Hacken Lee is doing his concert here at Genting Highlands. Well, guess I got to admit that he was my idol singer. Back to the time during my teenage years, I likes his song pretty much. I guess everyone likes songs and singers of their teenage years right. And certainly would have one or a few favourite singing artist or shall I call it Idol.

Well, I've seen Hacken Lee twice before this. The first time was more than 10 years ago when he was at Ipoh to promote his album and the second time was at KLCC several years ago. He was like on a casual shopping there with 2 bodyguard escourting him walking around at the shopping center there.

Wifey helped me to book the ticket right after the booking period started to ensure we get the best seating. That was like 2 months ago! It gives us plenty of time to plan for the rest of the things and we're taking along our little ipohchai junior too. Since my mother in law is also going along, she will be taking care of the baby when we went out for the concert.

The Arena of Star at Genting Highlands where the concert took place. We're the early birds to enter the Arena. Just for the sake of looking around the place and the concert stage. Well, photo taken from my seat. I was seating way behind just a couple rows from the 'D' entrance door! But it was facing exactly to the center of the stage, not bad though.

As the time ticking, patrons enters the Arena and fill up more than 99 percent of the seats.

The concert started at about 8.15pm and yeah, the concert atmosphere is building up instantly.

Seating at the far behind of the Arena, I could hardly see his face clearly but the concert is still enjoyable. Well, atleast my UltraZoom camera could zoom close enough to take photo of him on the stage.

Singing through some of his finest hit songs of the 90's which is familiar by most of his fans. Everyone just seems to get to sing along with him. Those who know his song atleast. An uncle who sat beside me seems to fall asleep in the middle of the concert! The concert ticket cost more than getting a room at the First World Hotel, he should have choose the room instead.

Lighting effects plays a big role during concert. It tends to add up some Umph! to the performance.

Now, Everybody Can Fly!
But it takes more than just that pair of wing to fly ya know. Hacken started one of his song playing a piano. I didn't know he plays musical instrument of any kind before. But as he explain, it was just part of the performance. "Playing a piano is even much much harder than dancing!", he explain.
Hacken Lee doesn't dance very well but he try his best in making up a great performance on the stage so that every audience would enjoy it the most. He sing very well and he write very good songs lyric too.

A master of classical chinese musical instrument performing her skill playing 'Pei Pa'. It was an astonishing performance.

Another master performing his skill blowing a chinese trumpet. He tends to re-create the Kenny G's saxophone chores using his trumpet, it was so alike.

Some gift from his loyal fans includes a pack of Pampers! for his little baby.

"I'm an UPDATE singer, so my photos is also up-to-date one", he says before the slide show of his cute little baby put on display.
At the end of the slide show he says,
"I have been singing for so many years, this is the first time nobody looking at me when I'm singing!" Hehehe, guess everybody really busy looking at his cute baby slide show there.

Towards the end of the concert, he went up to the middle of the crowd singing songs which requested by the audience. It was a great pleasure for the audience... like me, who sit so far away and had a hard time to have a closer look at him.

It was slightly after 10.00pm when he greets 'Thank You' and walked to the back stage and the Arena turns into darkness. Thats the end of the concert? Hell No.
It's Encore time and the audience was clapping and screaming his name like mad!
Somehow, he popped up from the back stage, "If you all don't want to go back then don't go back lor", he says.
So the singing continues for another period of time until there were like no more song to sing.

The concert officially end at about 11:30pm, that was like 3 hours and 15 minutes length of concert time. It was a great concert and I enjoyed it the most.
