I got a new equipment

I bought myself my first and only computer seven years ago. It has been a great seven years and the computer taught me so much things from surfing the internet to building my own website. From installing a software to formatting the whole pc. There have been too much great moment we have shared together.

Somehow, seven years has consider too old for the age of a computer. With more and more complicated applications as well as those never-end-updating antivirus programs needed, my old computer has not enough mussle to cope up with the work load anymore, not to mention multi tasking job. You know, everytime I switch on the computer, it will takes about 7 minutes just to boot up and it require extreme patience to use it because it always hang and slow down to a pause for a few minutes to figure out which task it suppose to execute first!

It is time to get a pc of today's. A computer that could handle all the task I needed to do and this is what I got for myself

It was a Compaq C700 series lappy. Though I was considering to replace my desktop with a new one but somehow I would like to have some mobility. Having a laptop would be a new experience for me.

The lappy runs on an Intel Dual Core 1.5GHz processor, yeah dual core do more as what it says. I guess it could really do all the things I needed it to do.
It also comes with a large 15 inch screen at a resolution of 1280 X 768, great though. I upgraded the memory to 1Gb of RAM. I guess that is sufficient enough for today's requirement.

It also comes with a DVD Burner drive but somehow I was still puzzled about this drive capability. I never used a DVD burner before but I guess burning process would just be the same like burning a CD. But then, DVD comes in several types like DVD R-, DVD R+, DVD RW, DVD RAM and dual layer thingy too. Just wonder if all the disc would just fit to use with the drive?

All of all, I love this new laptop so much but in the other hand, it means that my 7 years old companion will have to be put into cold storage.
Well, probably I will just re-format the old desktop and just put in the basic software and do some simple job out of it.
Or maybe putting up a Linux system to try out since I never really tried Linux ever.

You know, having a new up-to-date hardware really make a huge difference.

Even downloading files from the internet deemed much faster than before. You know, my old computer never got across 40Kbps download speed but now I'm getting tremendous speed. I guess my hard drive will go full in the matter of months.

New stuff is always good and I never really had enough of it. The new lappy has been aticking around with me every here and then and even...

When I was at sleep...

I was currently trying to figure out how can I make a bootable backup disk for this lappy. I have bad experience of PC getting infected with virus or spyware or malware or tupperware what-so-ever and I couldn't find way to get rid of it. I usually would just format the whole pc and start from scratch. It was a painful job needing to install each software one after another.

I heard Norton Ghost could create an image file for the entire hard disk. It can be later used to re-instate the whole system to its original condition. Still trying to figure out how to do so now...
