The best Laksa and Fried Yong Tau Fu in Ipoh would certainly be Tai Shu Tou (Big Tree Trunk). It is not a restaurant as you may think but it was just a stall under some big trees selling noodle.
This is how it looks like from the other side of the road.
This stall is located at Jalan King just behind the Tuck Kee Restaurant.
This is the location map to the Tai Shu Tou noodle stall.

Not only they serve good laksa, Tai Shu Tou has the best and most variety of Yong Liu (Assorted fish cake) such as chilli, tohu, egg, egg plant stuffed with fish meat paste and fried.... yummy
Some variety of stuffed item is shown below;
Green Chilli, Egg plant, Egg and Wanton are my favourite
Stuffed Red Chili and Tau Fu... yummy.
Yumm... my favourite Asam Laksa.
Not to forget about some fried stuffed yong tau fu too
This stall is open for business from 12.00pm to 5.00pm Monday to Saturday (Sunday Off). Large crowd will surround the stall at 2.00pm till 4.00 pm and its hard to find a seat somewhere. If it happen to be a public holiday... hmm, guess I'll avoid this stall of probably tapau back home instead.
Ah... so kenyang liao. What else could be better with RM 6 for a great taste of Asam Laksa, some crispy and tasty fried Yong Tau Fu and a glass of cold sugar cane juice.
Ipoh food is really really yummy... !
Some of the stuffed fish cake awaiting for deep fry. This stall sell thousands of stuffed fish cake daily.

Its individual preference but I don't prefer the Laksa here. But it's fried fish cake and Yong Tau Fu is Da Best.
One of the "must visit" places when I'm in Ipoh. My favourite is the long bean stuffed with fish paste at the Yong Tau Foo stall.
i quite agree with ipohchai that the fish cake and Yong Tau Fu are really delicious! But the laksa there abit sour and the soup also salty..during lunch time, the place is very crowded.
Got any Ipoh famous tauke chicken photo....
another good Ipoh Laksa - "Joe Recipes" is located in Tesco Ipoh, behind Kinta City(Jusco).
