Woahh! I just set up this code few days ago to find out if there is any illegal SPAM comment injection that sent into my blog. I was kind of surprised to see this figure this morning.
438 illegal SPAM comment injection within 5 days! Let see, that would be about 88 SPAM per day injected into my blog. Also, about another 10 SPAM comment which successfully filtered out that I mentioned previously.
If all that total up, this tiny little blog alone is attacked by over 100 SPAM each day and I don't even get 50 visitors each day. Thats sucks, even more terribly suckier than my Electrolux vacuum sucker at home.
If you wonder what is this SPAM injection, well it is an attempt to inject some SPAM data into my blog comment from elsewhere. Those spammers have some bots or program to do this job continously using different IP addresses. If I could just plot a chart on these spams, I believe the chart will shoot up much rapidly than our KLSE composite index!
If all these spams could be converted into money, I got to be dirt rich very soon. But for the time being, I'll just dream on lol.

Do you checked out those "spam comments". They are sometimes left by contributing readers but being eaten up my spam blockers...
I check each and every spam comments in the moderation box. Sometimes, it is a valid comment but it is less than 1% of all captured comment is valid.
lolz 438 spams in 5 days is a big number! those spammers really 'eat full nothing to do"..
Really? how you know got spam? I dont really get much spam. Just some random weird comments once in a while!

normal blog usually has the mechanism to filter out all common spam attempts without you realising it.

Raymond: those are the spam injection attempt which is filtered but not recorded into my comment database, so I don't have to read them.
my blog tracked about 200 to 400 IP address each day but only 10 to 20 percent is valid visitors. the rest of it consist of some search engine robots while most of it were spam injection attempt
