Muzium Padi Kedah

The Kedah Paddy Museum is not just an ordinary museum which display some historical stuff but there is something really special that attract thousands of visitors to come over. Let see what is it.

I was back to Kedah for the weekend recently and somehow, I get to visit the Muzium Padi Kedah. Since some of our friends mentioned about their great experience over their visit, I guess we don't want to left behind too.

So, what is so attractive about this museum compare to any other museum? We ain't talking about those artifact stuff or historical photos of the past huh.

kedah paddy museum building

The museum located just nearby Gunung Keriang. This place is known locally as Crystal Mountain because there is natural crystal excavated from the mountain. And right under the mountain, you may find the Gunung Keriang Recreation Park where you can buy those crystal souvenirs.

Talking about the main attraction here at the museum, well it is all about art paintings. No, it is not those paintings which is framed and hang onto the wall but we're talking about a large scale artworks which is somewhat impressive to everyone who visits the museum.

Once entered into the museum main entrance, we went straight to the center doom through a circular stairs which resembles a cave. It is dark and the surrounding was made in a way which looks exactly like a cave. Just after a couple of minutes of stair climbing, we reach to the top of the doom.

Now, this is was we saw at the top of the museum doom. A very beautiful scenic view of Kedah from the top of a high rise platform. You could see the Gunung Keriang a.k.a Crystal Mountain there.

This is where you can view the Kedah outer area in 360 degrees from a high rise area. You get to see mountains and paddy fields which is somewhat exhilarating.

A rainbow right on a down pouring spot visible from far away. You know, the entire scenic view could actually remain unchange all the time. Regardless of what weather it is, you can see these scenic remain the same. Well, this is because they're paintings on the wall! Yeah, the entire 306 degrees scenic view was just a paintings.

the rotating viewing platform

The entire center doom of the museum consist of a rotating platform which you could just sit down and view the landscape scenic while the platform will rotate in circular motion slowly.

Here is a video clip on the Muzium Padi Kedah scenic doom.

The paintings were so real that I could hardly find any flaw on it. It just make you feel like you are standing on the 100 meters high towers looking at the Kedah surrounding.

The paddy museum exhibition hall

We went down to the exhibition hall to explore some history about the State of the Rice Bowl of malaysia but just to find more similar painting.

pedu dam art painting

The painting of the Pedu Dam of Kedah. Pedu lake is also one of Kedah's tourist spot.

beautiful sunset painting

A beautiful sunset view from a paddy field. Simply exhilarating.

the paddy exhibition hall

One the lower floor of the museum is where you find the items being exhibited. It is mainly displaying those conventional tools and items used in paddy field in the past. Today's everything has change with advance in technology and you hardly sees people using buffalo in paddy field anymore.

various types of paddy

Gosh, I never realize that there are so many types of paddy.

museum doorstep

Ring on the doorstep, the mountain foot of Gunung Keriang. Well, there sure are a whole lots of tourist bust parked outside the museum compound. If you happen to come over to Kedah, this is simply a place you got to visit.
