Perak International Skydive 2007

The Perak International Skydive has been successfully held at the Perak Aero Club on 14 and 15 July. It has been a heavy downpour on the 15th morning and the sky keep pouring until late afternoon. As I finished my shopping at around 3pm, the sky were still very cloudy but somehow I took a peep at the events location.

The Perak Aero Club is located right next to the Ipoh's Sultan Azlan Shah Airport. There is no huge crowd at the event most probably due to the heavy rain in the morning. I guess those who stay nearby would certainly come over to have a look at the activities held there.

Aeroplane, yeah of course you will find planes all over at the skydive events. And if you would like to take a ride on this mini aeroplane with your love one they could give you a lift to the sky of Ipoh with a very affordable price.

This is a paraglider I suppose. It just looks like a normal parachute but with an attached motorised fan. It can stay drifting at the sky as long as the fuel allow. This is a kind of sport which is pretty new in our country. I did watched a local documentary about this sport years ago. The attached motor unit cost about Rm8,000 and above, not a cheap sport I would say.

Well, there has been a Karaoke contest too but there are one a few contestant. The Idol of the day was this girl here.

This is the Remote Control Hobby booth where the most visitors paying attention to. There are RC plane and helicopter all over the booth. Nowdays, these plane or copter RC kits has gone so cheap that anyone could really fly one. Yeah, just like our infamous AirAsia moto, 'Now everyone could fly (an RC plane)'.

But if you would like to try out these hobby, be prepare to buy a few plane for starting cos newbie would usually crash a few planes especially during landing! These plane are so fragile that once crash, it's game over, kaput, finish, sau-gong!

I remember a couple of month ago, my elder brother did bought a RC aeroplane. He was damn happy cos be able to fly his own RC plane for the first time. Just after a short while after took off, it crashed!
And thats all, the plane end up with a total-loss and unable to fly anymore.

So, if you can't fly the plane like an expert, just watch the expert doing it. By the way, there is going to be a RC plane and copter competition coming up soon on 29th July 2007 at Lahat Mines Resort.

Or yet, just join these kids on the paper plane throwing competition lol.

Talk about skydive, whats a skydive events without droppping parachute. Also, those who are interested could also join the in at the drop zone. They will be attached together with one of the parachuter and feel the exhilarating skydive experience. Hmmm... maybe one day, I would like to have a try on this.

I remember this uniform. They just come over to my house recently to catch the cobra who sneaked into my house.

Peoples have been taking turn to fly on this mini aeroplane. It could load a few person on each flight.

After a couple of flight, it is time to refuel the tank. Everything seems to be really conventional here and they still need to pump the fuel with a hand pump into the aeroplane tank.
