It was a hot afternoon right after my photo outing at Perak Cave Temple a.k.a. Perak Tong at Jalan Kuala Kangsar, umm now thay changed to Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman already (I hate road name change). I was hungry and brainstorming myself where is the nearest place to get a nice and yummilicious lunch. Well, the Tasek junction is just several meters ahead and I know there are many restaurants there which offer some nice dishes, including the famous Mee Rebus Ramli and not to forget the Ugly Mee Rebus too, hehehe.
I picked this one simply because it was famous. It is famous among outsider and tourist who visited Ipoh. Well, ya know, I was surprised that many of my friends doesn't know about this place while many of my friends from other state who has been in Ipoh know about it. Well, why not? Ipoh people won't travel 10 or 20 kilometers to an industrial area just for the sake of a roasted duck rice, hehehe. Fair enough.
Back to this Hong Kong Roasted Duck, well, they have been in business for more than a decades long. The specialties is their Oily Chicken and of course Roasted Duck.
Yummy, not stingy at all. Look at those thick, juicy and meaty pieces of duck meat. They give ample of it so every customer get a satisfied meal. The duck skin is roasted to crisp and with the sweet gravvy topped onto the meat, the combination really brings an unimagineable experience. (geeze, am I over praise them)
Somehow, the only lack was their chili sauce. Okay, I'm a chili addict and for a plate of near perfect roasted duck rice like this, chili sauce is certainly a MUST HAVE item to grant it to perfect. They give those very veli common chili sauce like the one you get when buying fish ball at the Pasar Malam. Niasing, so cheap leh. They could do better than that. Lastly, the plate of delicious roasted duck rice cost RM5.00. Satisfaction comes with a price tag huh and I would say, it really worth it. Well, it is not like I would drive 25 kilometers away from my home to this restaurant every here and then right.

is a total ripped off shop.. they charge xpecially xpensive for out stationed people. The roasted duck is only so-so..i have had better in KL petaling street. and they even allow a beggar in the shop to beg for money...gosh..NOT RECOMMENDED!!
i support u "jung" cause the food their sell at this shop is really extra expensive. Me and my hubby (TWO PERSON)happens to take a lunch there and we ask for chicken and duck mix and one vegetable..it cost us 40++ and i still remember the chicken and duck their serve to us is bone more than the meat..no good & very expensive ..me also "NOT RECOMMENDED"
seriously its a rip off. i tried another similar place in caning garden ipoh called Restoran Hong kong as well. Way superior in taste and price. Its there on ur GPS garmin as well. Just type hong kong restaurant and its there. Go check it out. The roast duck is awesome.
Seriously NOT Good and serve overnight ducks. You should try the neighbour Home Sweet Home Roasted Duck.. Very good!
