There’s a viral file in my PC

There has been a serious issue I had with my office PC lately. I m trying to copy some data from the C drive for backup since I am going to get the hard disk replace. As I'm copying the data away, the pc tends to hang, totally!

It gives no respond and I have no choice but to switch off the main power and hard boot the pc. The same thing just happen over and over again everytime I try to copy files from one specific folder.

Eventually, I found the culprit of the day. It was an old PowerPoint file which has been kept there for years. Everytime, I click or highlight the file, everything will just stand stood and the next thing I could expect is that the pc will hang with a blank blue screen! Sometimes, even opening the folder to see the list of file will also cause the damn problem.

I try to delete the file but to no avail, even deleting the entire folder prove futile. The pc just got hang over and over again. Just what else I could do with this viral file which cannot be touch, I wonder.

As the last resort, I try using MS-DOS! Ya know, the command prompt thing with a black screen and white color text. It isn't something I familiar with as I think this is something like an ancient artifact in the computer history, I mean, who use MS-DOS anymore?

I dig some tutorial about MS-DOS and test it out on my pc. It really take some time to get familiar about this ancient program. but eventually, voila! I removed the viral file.

Well, no matter how advance the Windows system works, still the ancient piece of program save the day.
