Trip to Yunnan China pt 9-LiJiang nightmare

Its the 6th day of the trip and today we have a look at the Dong Ba Culture village and the breathtaking Yulong (Jade Dragon) snow mountain of LiJiang.

Its the 6th day and we are on the last city of the trip, LiJiang. Little that I know, today was the worst day of the 8 days trip. Everything just doesn't seems to go right and it start at the very early in the morning.

We have been informed to wake up early and the breakfast is suppose to be at 6.30 in the morning. At 6.15 morning, some of the participant walked down to the hotel's lobby to find out that there is nobody there except a guy who are sleeping at one of the corner near lobby. It seems that the person in charge forgot to set things up as what we have planned.
So, there we are in the hotel's restaurant waiting for those chef to start preparing food. Gradually, the food is served.
Then comes a group of Chinese local tourist to the restaurant. The Chinese are rude! Freaking rude!
You could forget about waiting on the queue for your turn. The terms queue never exists in their brain. They were acting like haven't been eating over the past 7 days or so.

The food sucks, I just eat a little just to make sure my stomach was not empty and left the place immediately.

LiJiang is mostly populated by the Naxi ethnic. No, not the German's Nazi.
dong ba culture village
Our first place to visit is the DongBa Culture Village

naxi ethnic costume
The Naxi ethnics costume. Dancing and singing is part of the culture for those minority ethnics in China. Whether its a Yi, Bai, Naxi etc, they all dance and sing literally.

dong ba village man
Man however are good in playing musical instruments.

ethnics dancing
You could just join them dancing and have a great time here.

up to the blade mountain
Climbing up to the Knife Mountain. Each step of the ladder is actually knife.

tibet roller
These roller thingy seems familiar. The Naxi ethnics believe in Lamaism which is a culture from Tibet. Some of the monument here are similar to those in Tibet too.

After the visit at the DongBa Culture village we were heading to the Yulong(Jade Dragon) Snow Mountain. Our plan suppose to be going up to 4000 meters to the snow field at the Yulong snow mountain where we could be playing with snow.

Unfortunately, there are strong win blowing at the mountain and the cable car service was not operating due to safety concern. Everybody was sort of upset having their ultimate plan cancelled! Yeah, its one of the main attraction to this visit where we could get a hold of the snow. There is no snow in Malaysia!

So, the plan changed and we were to be going to YunShan Ping which is located at the eastern side of the Yulong snow mountain. It is a forest park where the ultimate sight was the huge grass field with the snow mountains as the background. Sounds breathtaking huh.

wait for cable car
All tourist switched the plan to visit YunShanPing altogether since the the cable car to Yulong snow mountain was closed down.
YunShanPing also has a cable car (2 seaters) to go up to the forest park and we were on the queue for like 2 god damn hours! I was like dying waiting in the queue.

forest at lijiang
After the cable car, we arrived to the forest park where we need to walk another 15 minutes to the sight seeing place. At 3000 meters above sea, the air is thin here and breathing is a lil difficult. Climbing a few stair case was like running 1 round in the football field. Its exhausting and its no joke ok.

oxygen tank
There is this mini Oxygen tank to help breathing in case people having difficulty to breathe in the high altitude environment. It cost RMB 40 each.

yulong snow mountain
The ultimate sight at YunShanPing. Huge grass field huh? Dead grass it seems.

jade dragon snow mountain
Well, the sight is nice, breathtaking. But thats the only thing to do coming up here. It takes less than an hour to walk around the place here but is takes several hours just to come up here. I can't forget the 2 hours wait at the freaking cable car!

beautiful snow mountains
Going down. Another 1 hour wait at the freaking cable car and now I'm really pissed. Although the scenic from the cable car during downhill was exhilarating, the mood wasn't there to enjoy it much anymore. It's already 2.00pm when we were on the cable car going down and we haven't had lunch yet! So hungry.

It's 3.00pm and we had our lunch at a nearby restaurant. The food sucks deep down to my butts. But having no other choice, just eat it lor.
aweful lunch
Yeah, the food is sux! Look at them, like eat shit already.

Well, its a tiring day today with those long-hour-wait and the late-lunch, everybody seems completely worn out. We will be going back to Dali for the dinner but before that, we have make a stop at a shop here offering Spirulina pills.

Yunnan is one of the 3 place in this planet which has a lake that produce natural Spirulina. If you still have no idea what is spirulina yet well, it is a type of algae which grows in water. It is rich in protien and is currently widely available as a health products.
All our participants was like sleeping what the presenter start talking about his great-o-spirulina.

We head back to Dali for dinner leaving an unforgettable nightmare at LiJiang. I would say, the local tour guide there could have done better to make everyone pleasant. LiJiang was beautiful and rich in marvelous natural sighting. It was the screw up in planning and decision making by the tour guide that makes me feel like flying back to home immediately.

inflated biscuit pack
At high altitude, the air was so thin that the biscuit pack become so inflated. Having less air in the atmosphere also means having less filtration against UV ray from the sun.

normal biscuit pack
At normal altitude, the biscuit pack does no get inflated.
