I just paid a visit to this new seafood restaurant at Tambun recently. Our reader told me that it was the biggest seafood restaurant around so I was kind of curious about the statement. I even saw their advertisement and articles in our local newspaper already so I guess it would be worth a visit.
Woah, crab or spider was that, or people tends to call it a spider crab! The restaurant was located behind Rum Jungle.

Umm... it was at Sunway City, Tambun.

The Perak Unique Seafood Restaurant was kind of isolated, couldn't be sighted from the outside. And yeah, you got to go over the Lost World parking entrance auto gate which you will have to pay 1 bucks when you leave! Well, your car would definitely be safer and they have ample of parking space there.
A whole array of fresh seafood in the aquarium. I guess this is what unique about them compared to other seafood restaurant in Ipoh. The have what others doesn't have. Lobsters, Prawns, Crabs, Kepah, Oysters, Fishes, Fish and more fish... and a whole lot more.
They called this the Spider Crab. This was the Alaska King Crab where people have been dying for in the Berring Sea. Yeah, I have watched the Deadliest Catch in the Discovery before. They look pretty creepy though and they're extremely pricey. Maybe I'll order one of these when I strike Mapiu!
There's also the Opilio a.k.a. Snow Crab which is white in color. Argh, just when I can strike Mapiu!
Mexican Geoduck! So big the batang I'telya. Duno how they going to cook it but I ain't ordering it this time.
They have the air-cond as well as the non-air-cond area which is for those who like to have some suicide-stick with them along their meal. The place was pretty classy though. It ain't like other seafood restaurant with an uncle or aunty come over asking 'Wan to eat wat? We have this and this and that' thing. They have a menu with all the dishes they serve written in Chinese and English.
They call this the 'Sei Tai Tien Wong' in Cantonese a.k.a. The Fantastic Four :D lol
It's a mixture of 4 types of vegetables which consist of long bean, egg plant, lady's finger and french bean. Well I was used to those 'Sei Tai Tien Wong' from the grill fish stall in hawker center and they taste even much better than this one. Thumbs down! on the first dish.
This is one of their specialties dishes, Crispy Otak Beancurd. Though it was just some fried tofu with a crispy exterior but it taste extremely good. Together with some special-spicy-seafood-sauce (chilli sauce la) it was like in heaven already. Two thumbs up!
Another of their specialties dishes. The Salted Egg Fried Crab! Not bad I would say. I choosed the offer crab which cost RM28.00 per KG instead of the bigger crab of RM43.00 per KG. The crab were of smaller in size but I just want to have a taste of their crab. Thumbs up anyway!

Not to be harsh, but the way it looks was awful! The place was great, the environment was nice, I can see fishes swimming happily in the aquarium and they serve me this thing call fish.. potong stim so much!
And the taste...
Well, not up to my expectation. I should have just ordered a normal soy sauce steam fish instead.. gnawl, regret. Thumbs down! Go fly kite.
Thats the four dishes I had on my first visit to this so called Unique Seafood Restaurant in Sunway City, Tambun, Ipoh. The dinner cost about RM49.00 for two person, very reasonable I would say for a dinner with crabs and fish.
Felt a lil bit dissapointed though but I would give them another try next time.

very reasonably priced i must say. a bit too far for me to travel for this tho. :)
RM49 for 2 persons is still considered cheap. Here in Penang, we order a tofu, a fish, 2 crabs, and a chicken dish already cost for RM70++.

Never realize that such a wonderful restaurant located in Ipoh. I tried the snow crab in New York and Canada, but never have it in Malaysia. It is a good explode anyway! Thanks for the info. ^L^
I juz went 4 dinner yesterday... really disapointing wei.... we order the RM898 per table set... Surpose the Shark Fin is everybody a small "zhong" but when the food arrive.. they come in a big bowl...when we ask the waitress say they r too busy its the same 1... somemore show us black face.... Rewally dun wanna go back to this restorant again adi... DISAPOINTED
is this restaurant halal? i 'm searching for halal restaurant to do some gathering with frens.. where we can get good food.. but can chat like hell also..heheh

now ipoh having tis promotion .For Spent RM120.00 and Above got 1 chance luckly draw. i hear de prize got lobster,ablone,alaska crab , soon hock and alot alot more
the food they serve there is ok quite nice and what i like most is the situation there lah..very comfortable eating there .. cause u can see the small mountion and the rivers just beside this restorant and the air is so fresh ..and yet the food is not so expensive (reasonable price)
but for u #7Siu Meng,pity u also lah cause u get this kind of experience at there
Hi..read your reviews on Unique seafood and you should give them another try..I thought you ordered the "wrong dishes" besides the Otak Beancurd and their Salted Egg Crab..which are their specialties..their steamed fish is fresh also (especially the expensive fishes!). I liked their "chiu pai meen" (signature noodle) and also their "Leong Mei Kai Lan", with the stems and leaves separated and fried..
The common fried rice is also good there and the kepah and lala...
That day we 6 persons first time go to this restaurant for birthday celebration, we order the abalone promotion sets.. the food is delicious, service is good.. environment is comfort... The price also reasonable...Is very good restaurant at the ipoh town!!

To all muslims, fyi, i went to this place and ask the staff either this place is halal or not. The staff said this place is halal. I ask again do u serve non halal food? And he said yes, we serve halal and NON halal food as well.
