Just a few weeks ago, I received a forwarded mail about this Hot Spring Park located at Sungkai, Perak. The photo is somewhat gorgeous and I never really aware that my own state Perak has such beautiful park eventhough it has been operating for quite some times. So, I took this opportunity to pay a visit to the Sungai Klah Hot Spring Park at Sungkai, Perak.
From Ipoh, it just took almost an hour along the North South Expressway to arrive to the Sungkai exit. Once got out from the tol, there is already direction board showing the way to the hot spring park. It was kind of wierd that each direction board has the word 'TRAP' on it. Now, what kind of 'TRAP' they're trying to set up here huh? As I drove on, finally I realise the 'TRAP' is simply the acronym for 'Taman Rekreasi Air Panas', duh! It was about 10Km from the Sungkai highway tol to the hot spring park. Driving through the oil palm estate in the morning is very relaxing. The route passes through the Felda Sungai Klah which is a small town surrounded by the thick oil palm estate. It was pretty quiet though. The relaxing drive through the estate come to an end very soon as we arrived to the hot spring park entrance.
The entrance fee into the park cost RM10 for adult and RM8 for children. Okay, if you have been here sometimes back, you know the fee is much cheaper back then. Petrol price goes up, so does hot spring! Damn, they're not generating the hot spring with a fuel engine doesn't they?!
Look at the hot steam coming up, its really hot I'telya. There are several different Hot Spot around the park with different types of activities.
This is the Hot Spring Pool. The water is kind of warm here and it is pretty comfortable to sunk your entire body into the pool. However, there is a warning sign board stated that those with critical illness such as asthma, heart problem, diabetes and high blood pressure should not use this pool. Also, you need to know that our body will get dehydrated very quickly when exposed to heat, therefore you should drink more water when using hot spring.
Uh, there is my little boy getting so eager to play.
Gosh, the water inside this little river is boiling hot. This is the place to boil some egg. You could buy the egg from the cafeteria at a reasonable price. But if you want some soy sauce or pepper, perhaps you got to bring it on your own.
It only takes about 3 minutes to make an egg into half boiled and 7 minutes to fully boil the egg. About your egg, I duno lah. Perhaps you would like to try it out and let me know.
This is the Therapeutic Pool area where it has several hot spring pool at different degrees of temperature. There is also a hot stone walk way for you to do some foot reflexology on your own. Man it was like walking barefoot on a tarmac road in the middle of a sunny afternoon plus the torturing feel by those stones along the path. Does it make me more healthy or is simply simulate how does it feel being in hell!
After a mile of torturing walk, it would be a great idea to just seat by the pool and dip my foot into the hot spring water. Now thats feel more like it.
There is also Spa and Family Bath area in the park. If you would like some body massage or foot massage, simply talk to the person there and you could start your session immediately. There is also Ayurveda treatment available here if you would like to have some healthy treatment by proffesional.
Not far from the Hot Spring Pool is a Camp Site for those who like to organise some camping activities.
The cafeteria and souvenirs shop were nice. It was built right next to a pool full of fish swimming around. It was kind of mesmerizes looking at the fish swimming in a circular motion altogether.
Its feeding time! Those hungry fish were like Piranha when comes to eating.
Having a relaxing time at the cafeteria looking at those fishes swimming in the pool, what an enjoyment.
After having some Hot time at the Hot Spring area, we get on to a cool place in the park where I could swim inside a cold water pool and at the same time, having some fun with the facilities available there. This is the Mountain Spring Pool inside the hot spring park. The water comes from a natural water source nearby and it was cold! Really Syok I'telya.
The facilities around the Mountain Spring Pool were really nice. It has everything you need to have a nice relaxing time. After having a tiring swimming session in the cold mountain water pool, I lay myself down to take a nice rest.
They have this giant Kraken on the pool. Ya know, the ugly giant octopus appeared in Pirates of Carribean which ate captain Jack Sparrow. The childrens is having so much fun playing in the pool.
Though it was not scary, but the downslide here is fun though. With water splashing all over along the slide way, it was really fun especially if you have a whole group of people slide down together.
A little man-made waterfall sit next to the giant octopussy. This area is for adults only as the water depth is deeper, about 5 feet.
Standing under the waterfall splash was cool. The water is cold and it feel like getting shot my a machine gun continously or should I say, you get some water massage for as long as you want.
After a tiring afternoon at the mountain spring pool, we left the park heading back to Ipoh. Driving along the highway on a hot sunny afternoon isn't very pleasant though and my stomach is starting to Grrr... hungry!
I stop by at the Kinta City to fill up as well doing some shopping.
I fill up some food at the Black Canyon. Not only they serve some very well coffee, I also love the food here. In fact, I copy their Tom Yam Fussili into my cooking too lol.
I ordered this plate of... um... some sort of spaghetti fried with some basil toppings. Gosh I just couldn't remember the food I ate lol or just those Italian food name are just too hard to remember. This thing taste great though. With some large prawns and fish fillets, its just too appetizing.
Mmmm... a bowl of hot and spicy Tom Yum soup. Its simply irrisistible.
Wifey ordered the American Fried Rice. It's impression has already won one's heart. It was nice, but aren't great.
The weekend was great I would say. having be able to spend some quality time together with the kids and family is simply priceless. Well, I do hope you will also plan for a nice weekend with your love one and have a nice time too.
