Why You Should Buy Sanyo Eneloop

Spotted something nice and I grab my digital camera to shoot a photo of it but the battery is out of power! Thats the pain of using a regular rechargeable battery. Now with Sanyo Eneloop, that ain't happen anymore.

Over the years, I have bought several sets of rechargeable AA batteries for my digital camera. Having the need to constantly recharging those batteries just to ensure that is won't run out of power when I needed it is really a headache work. A normal NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) rechargeable battery could only store its charge for a short period of time before it gradually running out even if you are not using it.

For instance, my set of Panasonic 2500mA rechargeable battery is likely more than 1 years old now and after a full recharge, it could only hold the charge for several days! Yes, only a few days even if I'm not using my camera before I need to fit it back into the charger to recharge. That was pathetic I'telya. There has been several times that I stumble upon something and wanted to snap a photo of it just to find out the battery is screwed! WTF!

The technology evolution for rechargeable battery has gone more advance nowadays. I get to know about this 'Low Dissipation Batteries' some times back but somehow, I couldn't find them in the local electronic stores. One of the finest brand was the Sanyo Eneloop. Though I still didn't find it in the local stores. So, I turn to the online store and fortunately I get to buy them at ShaShinKi for only USD23.00 for a set of 4 batteries. Save me a lot of time to look further and it even send over to my doorstep Free of Charge.

I was mentioned that the Eneloop battery could retain 85 percent of the charge even if being idle for 1 year! Unbelieveable isn't. Compare to my normal rechargeable battery which could only store its charge for only a few days time, gosh that was uncomparable at all. And not only that, the Eneloop comes in fully charge and you could just put in into your gadget and use it right from the shelves. No more such thing as first recharge thing anymore.

So, just to put it to the test, I bought my Eneloop somewhere last month. It has been more than a month now and the battery should have been kept as stock for quite some times also. I put it up into my Canon S3IS for a photo outing at Perak Tong. To my surprise, after taking hundreds of photos it is still keep going. Although the Eneloop is rated only at 2100mAH, but it's minimum output is 1900mAH before it stop operating. That would be a great advantage as it could remain a high power output compare to a normal rechargeable battery.

As for the battery charger, it seems that any regular NiMH charger can be use for these Sanyo Eneloop batteries. Having 2 set of charge at home, I have got no worry about the need to purchase another charger.

Overall, I find this battery superb and it has solved the power drain issue once and for all. If you are looking for some rechargeble battery, be sure you buy the 'Low Self-Dischgarge' type. Other than Sanyo Eneloop, there are also other brand who has this similar product. Never buy the normal rechargeable battery anymore,. Afterall, the normal battery may cost even more expensive.
