Wong Kok Seafood Restaurant Ipoh

Happy Chinese New Year everybody! I just hope everyone out there having a great time during this festive season. Well, I had enjoyed much of my holidays too and in fact, still enjoying it. But well, happy times goes by real fast. Holidays is about to end and the working routine will be back very soon.

Well, let me post up this yummy posting about my Chinese New Year reunion dinner which is held at Wong Kok Seafood Restaurant. It is located right behind the Tuck Kee Restaurant at Pasir Pinji. This restaurant has been operating here for many years and I did came over here for their decent seafood several times.

Gosh, my little son with his hungry face hehehe. Now, when will be the food being serve?

Colorful Yee Sang. I guess most Chinese will have this in their menu during the Chinese New Year season. It has a very good meaning and thats the one and only reason it was on the table. Now, who support the point that Yee Sang is delicious?

Allright, lets the dinner begin. The first dish on the table is the Tong Po meat serve with mini fried Mun Tow bun. Very sinful dish yet superlicious.

Then came this XL size prawns fried with soy sauce. Ya know, the food quality will definitely more or less affected during festive season. It is ineviteable. I feel that the soy sauce prawn which I cook at home taste better than this one.

Allright, this is the precious braised sea cucumber with mushroom. A whopping RM120.00 for this dish alone. Restauraneur does make a decent money during festive season like this. While the workers sacrifice their reunion dinner with their family to prepare a good dinner for you and your family, there's always a price to pay and everybody seems willing to pay for it.

Now this is, well, fried chicken. While in the process of pouring the mayonaise onto the fried chicken, they seems to run out of mayo. So, I only get half of the plate with mayo toppings while the other halves plain. And they don't seems to give any discount for that!

Now, how can you not have a fish dish for the reunion dinner. Fish gives a good meaning too for the Chinese. In fact, whatever sounds good, it is good for the Chinese. And it certainly good for the restauraneur especially. This steamed Pomfret also cost Rm120.00! So good for the 'Sounds Good' idealogy.

Finally, came this fried lotus root with ginko. Nothing inside the plate is my favourite. Duno who likes this dish or it has certain 'Sounds Good' meaning.

Well, our dinner sum up to RM430.00. Anything else to say?
