Yee Fatt Curry Mee is Delicious

Of all Ipoh food, this curry mee is a famous one. This curry mee has been operating longer than our country's independence yet, the taste of its curry is still unforgettable.

If you wonder just where in Ipoh you could find a delicious curry mee? Well, I would refer you to Kedai Kopi Yee Fatt. This coffee shop is located just by the Jalan Kampar roundabout near the Tow Boo Keong temple.

Infamous Yee Fatt Curry mee in ipoh
If you driving around the roundabout, you will certainly notice this coffee shop at the shop lots there. It is open for business morning until afternoon.

I remember I had read this article on a newspaper couple of years ago titled Still winning fans after 50 years.
This curry mee stall has been operating more than 50 years by now, means that the business of this curry mee has started even before our country's independence in 1957. That was really impressive.
My dad used to tell me that he always visit this curry mee when he was young as he is staying in Jalan Kampar back then.

OMG, just look at this curry mee. My mouth was watering now as I'm typing this article and I'm still remembering the taste of this curry me I had few days ago.
It has curry chicken meat and also Char Siew on it with some mint leaves as dressing. What a yummilicious look.

The taste of this curry mee was just so addicting. The curry soup was so thick yet smooth. You could taste its herbs and spices fragrance as well as the coconut milk taste.

If you doesn't prefer the curry soup, you could also try this Kon Lo Curry Mee. The noodle is mixed with soy sauce and topped with a scoop of thick curry paste. Assorted with chicken meat and char siew, the taste is something to remember, always.

OHHH U MUST TRY THE CURRY MEE ACROSS THE POLICE STATION.. ITS REALLY GOOD... I ALWAYS GO THERE WITH MY MOM... to be im in the UK right now :(

That curry mee across the police station is called Chuen Fong. They moved several years ago so they're not directly opposite anymore but a little further down the main road. Once you pass the police station on the right hand side from the roundabout, you see the coffee shop on the left side of the road. This is my favorite place for curry noodles. The best way to eat it is order the noodles plain and then ask for "cam liu" where the meat is served on the side with a special dipping sauce.

Yes this curry mee is one of the best in Ipoh
I have been going there since I was 17. I am 51 now and living in UK. Cannot wait till September 07 when I will go home to Ipoh and savor this delicious curry mee

I have been to this restaurant since I was 13 now I'm 31 and staying in Australia, it's the best. Just dont mind the loud and weird way when they shout to each other on your orders. I think it's Hailanese dialect. Not that sure.

I concur that Yee Fatt's dry curry noodles is the best around. The only downside is the lack of parking spaces around the shop. Recently the Yee Fatt shop was renovated with an "up to date" kopitiam image. On a side note, the dry curry noodle at the new Wah Nam in greenhill is worth mentioning too. One of my favourites in Ipoh :)

Yes, I've been to this restaurant out of curiosity by the large crowd. Usually I avoid large crowds area, but when it comes to curry mee...my weak point is pressed.

It turns out everything is excellent. Wet or dry. When I was very little, I used to hang out this street with other kids as mom used to play mahjong nearby.
